Production
Photoshop was a vital software used for the creation of my ancillary products. Due to already having a broad knowledge on the layout of the software having previously using the software, the production stage wasn't as challenging as it could've been. On the basis that I was familiar with the different tools on the software, meaning that I knew what tool was used for that effect. This made the overall process a lot less stressful and quicker for me and due to completing the ancillary products fairly quickly I was able to spend more time researching the software and making it look as professional as possible using rotations, blur, paint graphics and other effects. Once I had created my final products, Photoshop allowed me to save the ancillary products as JPEGs and publish them on blogger in order to receive feedback.
I used my iPhone for a variety of things during the production stage of my music video as it was a vital piece of technology that enabled me to multitask during the filming stag of the music video. I use my phone as a device to play music off, from the app Spotify as it was clear that the music needed to be played so that my artist was able to successfully lip sync to the music making the editing an easier process on the basis that the timing would be improved. In addition to using my iPhone for music I also used it during the production stage as a way to take snapshots of the scene and certain setups to ensure that lighting stayed fairly coherent throughout and mise en scene would look the same if we had to shoot on separate days.
I used the Canon 1100D camera to take the images used on my ancillary products, I was confident with using this devise on the basis that in previous activities and coursework I had used this same camera meaning that I was familiar with how to use it and specific settings I should use to have different effects such as portrait mode and focus. This made the photography process of the production stage of my ancillary products a lot easier on the basis that I wasn't challenged by how to use the device. Due to having a good knowledge of this camera I also decided to also film my video on this camera, this camera is fairly professional meaning that each shot looked clean and followed the sort of aesthetic we were going for. Due to using the camera before, I had a vague idea on how to use the camera however I had never used it for filming before therefore during the production stage I tested different zoom and focus effects to add professionalism to each shot. This worked in my favour as it was clear that by the end of the production stage I had good control of the camera.
